The Time Machine

This lantern is made using a salvaged materials. The lantern itself is a salvaged piece that has been modified and painted, Each window is illuminated with cross polarized light, the same trick a geologist would use to identify minerals under the microscope. Inside each of the 6 windows you will find thin sheets of actual Mica, Mica minerals are monoclinic and when the rock sample breaks it separates into thin sheets. Micas are a group of minerals that include biotite and muscovite.
